What is the value of full time Water Quality Advocacy for water quality on your river?

The most consistent question asked of Waterkeepers is: “who funds you”? And the answer is, people in our watersheds do. Waterkeeper organizations also get foundation grants and hold fundraisers, but most of our support comes from people like you and from the communities we serve, who share our vision of healthy waterways and want to help advance that vision.

Your local Waterkeeper exists to investigate and resolve water quality complaints, protect clean water, rally the public to action on key watershed issues and serve as a watchful presence, ready to intervene when the regulatory or governance “system” breaks down or when willful polluters need to be confronted and brought into legal compliance.

Without your donations, volunteerism and dedication, Waterkeepers could not do the work that we do. We could not pay salaries, buy supplies, operate our boats, pay lawyers or build strong organizations that will champion preservation and restoration in the decades to come. We are fighting for the right of people and communities to a clean environment. We need your help to continue our work.

For your convenience we have specified several preset membership levels.  Our members receive discounts on our various events and activities, notifications of events,  and of course the satisfaction of supporting an unflinching advocacy presence on the Patuxent waterway. However, our commitment to environmental justice is to never deny access to tour events, services or activities to those who cannot afford to donate. Thank you for your tax deductible donation at any level.
