    Join staff from the Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary for a nightime paddle from Hill’s Bridge to River Farm. Trip is limited to 12 participants and prior kayaking experience is required. We will head up all the channels, listen for marsh birds and frogs and fish that splash. Should be a lot of fun, and an different experience for those who only kayak in the sun. Preferred if you can bring your own kayak. Those without a kayak can rent from Patuxent Riverkeeper. Cost is $15/person, payable to the Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary. This year’s Ramble will travel from Town Creek through the Paw Paw Bends, and ending at Little Orleans. Ramblers will gather at Town Creek on the evening of July 8 for an informal meeting and dinner, and head out on the water the following day. The course winds through gorges and rolling hills, with flat water and beautiful scenery. Along the way, Ramblers will become involved in the river and its surroundings through hands-on demonstrations and participation. The group will learn about Potomac water quality and challenges from biologists, historians, and other experts.

Scenic Rivers Land Trust joins the Patuxent River Keeper for a Kayak Trip down the Beautiful Patuxent River Saturday, July 10, 2010, 10am-2pm This leisurely three to four hour paddle down the Patuxent will begin at the Patuxent 4-H Center (twenty minutes from Annapolis, off of 214) and end at Jacksons Landing where a shuttle will return everyone to their cars. We will stop for box lunches at the Mt. Calvert Historical and Archaeological Park Guides, all equipment, shuttle transportation, snacks and lunch are included in the price of $70 per person Limited to twelve participants. This trip is not appropriate for children under 14. Please call SRLT to reserve your space at 410-424-4000 and send checks made out to the Patuxent River Keeper to SRLT, PO Box 2008, Annapolis, MD 21404.

Town Hall Meeting at the Calvert Marine Museum at 5:00 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Exhibition Building, 14200 Solomons Island Road in Solomons Island. The Town Hall meeting is an opportunity for citizens to share their concerns about the health of the Patuxent River and any other environmental issues in the community.
